I found your site by accident while looking for information on the GITS
Soundtrack. Let me say that I was surprised when I backed into such a well
written Japanese culture magazine. I enjoyed the article "The Tide is High"
and the review of
TENCHU for the Playstation. I've heard that it will be
released in America so I won't have to play a game I wouldn't understand (I
begin Japanese in 12th grade next year). Anyway, you've gained a new reader
and keep up the good work.
A lot of people seem to find us initially by having one of our reviews turn
up in a search engine. If we've done our job properly, after they read the
review, they want to read more. We seem to be doing ok in this regard.
As for the Editorial, they are sometimes the most challenging pieces to
write because sometimes I just can't stop writing, and other times it's a
stretch to fill the space.
Good luck with studying Japanese. It's not easy, but if you stick with it,
you'll be surprised at what you can do.

Subject: Wonderful! I have found Online Anime Heaven...
I want to let you know that your online 'Animezine' is absolutely
incredible! The obvious amount of dedication and ability displayed
within the pages leaves me in utter awe.
Thank you for your time.
Well, I don't know that we've ever received
a more divine compliment. (OK, bad pun.) Thanks
for noticing how much work we all put into EX.

Do you guys know about Anime releases on the
DVD format? Have you looked at
the area at all? I'm a big Anime fan, but I'm also a home theater
fanatic. When I watch VHS tapes of
BUBBLEGUM CRISIS or any other action
packed Anime film, I'm seriously disappointed by the sound. I have
a few Anime movies on DVD, but I was
wondering if you knew if any studios other than Manga Entertainment
and Pioneer were planning on releasing Anime on
DVD. Thanks.
Are you psychic? Actually, we're looking at it
right now. Look for a special article in our next issue about
what's out in the domestic anime DVD category. (Actually, we've
been planning this article for some time, but we wanted to wait
until there were more than two or three DVD
titles available to write the article).
And yes, at the moment Pioneer and Manga Entertainment
seem to be the industry leaders in releasing
DVD, but don't forget that Central Park
Media/US Manga Corps had the first US
anime DVD release with BATTLE
ARENA TOSHINDEN.
So look forward to that article—and a lot of other stuff—in our next
issue. |
